Purple carpets, not a truck in sight, the Commercial Vehicle show has evolved to a fully van-focused showcase of everything final mile - for 2026 CV co-located with Bus & Coach Expo to stretch to two halls. Make no mistake, the mix of conventional fuel vans and electric made for a worthy LSA visit to the NEC, but beware of the parking at a hefty twenty pounds in the East car park.
Ford stand held the pride of place entry area of the show, centre stage was the all-new Transit Custom, hands off!, placed in a cordon to look and don’t touch. Rear lights gone even more chunky. A funky modern grill with smooth lines we have come to expect from the electric future of our delivery van lives.
All major brands were available hands-on - from Maxus to Renault, Iveco, Peugeot and Citroen, Vauxhall in the running and a spread of VW electrics that gave the Dub warmth of heart in the split colour fronts. Kia adorned the visitors necks with sponsorship of the lanyards.
Passengers not parcels, upstairs in the bus and coach hall a final mile gem, Mellowvans brand, new South African built cargo trike, solid build, disc brakes, conventional L-cat 5 with a number plate, but drive it on a moped licence, with left and right side cab access, safety first, no cycle pedals, fixed driving sea, a seat belt and a disablement system for the electric motor if the seat belt is not clipped in, Add to this, for a light category L5 vehicle it had a huge two cubic metre rear load box space!
Let's get cool and shiny. Best van load space floor went to the Foton C1 Chinese brand with shiny silver checker-plate floor.
Renault big as the Estafette next to a smaller futuristic Traffic.
Iveco ev super Joly up to 260 miles sat next to the ev cafe area where a micro quad wheel VOK bike with pedals sat on the Dawson rentals stand. Traditional Goupl ev next door had gone modern with a new sleek front for a trusted brand in the small electric work machines.
Far corner of the hall. looking into future of Cherry engineering was the Chinese brand DeliVan. A stand of white cube stools, a transparent view of clear plastic body, glow-in-the-dark transplant heart of batteries on full display inside the clear plastic prototype. A DeliVan Prototype surrounded by micro van single seaters and even a driverless giant robotic black-and-white trolley box on wheels.

2026 CV show was well adorned with trade kit, smaller stands around the edges showcased heavy CV tools to van seat covers. Lots of custom van builders for every rack, stack and load restraint you could imagine. ‘POW’ A number of wrap companies showcased with some of the coolest designs, POW clearly exploding across a Custom Transit, beware big stue wraps that included the roof were on the three k side of the cost.
Talking Govt and compliance, National Highways had the very latest ‘TramLine’ truck, brand new, in a full compliance wrap, ready to tour the motorways and check offences live on the road. DCI Kate Brummell had her National Police OPAL freight crime team to attention on the purple carpets to talk parcel theft and organised crime. CV show giving something back found the Transaid, transport charity for driver training in Africa well placed on the ground floor, latest cycle challenges for charity all advertised, Transaid Ambassador, Mike Daly, former clothing rail transport expert was smile and wave to carry the message of giving back for transport.
