Evri Group has opened the new depot in Gloucester (12th Oct) following a £1.3 million investment to strengthen its growing UK network, increase operational capacity across the Southwest and create 37 permanent roles. Located at Indurent Park Gloucester in Quedgeley, the new facility replaces the existing Tewkesbury operation, which had reached capacity, and forms part of Evri Group's continued investment in its network following the acquisition of DHL eCommerce UK.
The move created 38 permanent roles across warehouse, driving, operational and management functions, supporting local employment while enhancing the company's ability to meet growing customer demand.
The depot is expected to process around 8,000 parcels each night, increasing to approximately 13,000 during peak periods, helping Evri Group meet increasing parcel volumes, enhance service levels for clients and consumers, and provide additional resilience and flexibility across the regional network. Spanning more than 57,000 square feet, the new site has been selected to support long-term growth opportunities across the Southwest. Situated adjacent to junction 12 of the M5, the depot offers excellent transport connectivity while providing significantly greater operational capacity than the previous facility.
The depot incorporates a range of sustainability features, including solar photovoltaic panels and electric vehicle charging infrastructure, helping to support Evri Group's ambition to build a more efficient, resilient and future-ready logistics network.
Gary Chalk, Director of Depots Evri Premium said:“The opening of our new Gloucester depot represents a significant investment in our network and demonstrates our commitment to supporting customers, clients and the communities we serve. This new facility provides additional capacity, resilience and flexibility across the Southwest while creating 38 permanent roles in the region. As parcel volumes continue to grow, investments like this are helping us build a stronger, more efficient and future-ready network.
“Following the acquisition of DHL eCommerce UK, we are continuing to invest in our infrastructure to enhance service, support long-term growth and deliver greater choice and reliability for customers.”
The investment supports Evri Group's continued growth as one of the UK's leading parcel delivery businesses and provides a strong platform to support increasing parcel volumes across the region in the years ahead as the business plans to handle 1 billion parcel in 2026 and targets 1.4 billion by 2030.
