You do not need a technical background for logistics, you need to be ready to learn. When I started there were limited numbers of women in operation roles for courier logistics, at TVS SCS I have driven roles for women at every level.

The message today, don’t underestimate what you can achieve, do not wait for permission to put yourself forward. The industry needs people like you to make a positive impact in logistics.

At TVS SCS, create an environment that is flexible and family friendly, there is a strong future in logistics and a future for women like you.’

The Women in Logistics recruitment event was designed to support talent development and recruitment across multiple sectors in Logistics. To present a unique opportunity for employers to engage with skilled and job-ready individuals, offering insight into career pathways, conducting mock interviews, providing CV support, and even making on-the-spot job offers.

A new initiative from West Thames College to find and engage the next generation of logistics talent:

One of the key purposes of the Logistics Skills + Careers Hub is job recruitment, a new web portal has been formed. The Hub is to expose young people and individuals, to the sector of logistics, who may not have previously considered the field. It would also enlighten those who have expressed an interest but do not know what the possibilities are. The key objective of the Logistics Skills & Careers Hub is to support the sector in tackling the skills gap in the locality of West London through the delivery of a curriculum and careers service which aligns with employer demands. The Hub is a space for collaboration and partnership working with employers to deliver careers events and recruitment drives, to the local community. Thereby raising the profile of the sector and increasing exposure and accessibility to a wider audience. The Logistics Skills & Careers Hub will be a focal point in West London for the sector. It will serve the community who are seeking the knowledge to further their aspirations, and as a result increase employability outcomes, supporting both local and regional economic development.
